WHY THAT IMAGE?

Something pretty iconic about our company is our focus on transparency and shared space as culture. Every day, the entire company gathers for a 30-minute, all-company huddle. Each daily huddle can take a different form, but we use the time for things like learning, sharing good news, and discussing company metrics. Then, once a quarter, we spend about 2 hours in what we call Hunger Games. Here, we discuss all the results of the prior quarter as well as plan for all of the great things we’ll be doing in the upcoming quarter. The photo is of one such Hunger Games.

BILLY COLLINS, DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY

What is your role and what do you do in the organization?

I wear many hats, but generally am responsible for services delivery, strategy, and operations.  I have been with PunchKick about 3 years.

What are you most looking forward to in 2017?

First, I am having my first kid in May, which is why I am try to get to Breckenridge as early as possible on Wednesday (~ 2 days of uninterrupted skiing before baby arrives).
Second and related to the first, I have personally been looking at this year as one where I am going to learn as much as possible in every situation and experiment with different ways to solve problems.

What was your favorite course in school that has nothing to do with your profession?

I was a journalism major in college and took a magazine and feature writing class. It was really the first time I was challenged to write anything good, and the professor made an art of constructive criticism.
