One North

One North

WHY THAT IMAGE?

A day in the office, where standing desks are becoming the norm and where La Croix is consumed heavily enough to make tree art out of.

WHY THAT IMAGE?

Every month, we have a "F*ck it Friday" where we say "F*ck it" and go work from a coffee shop in the morning, and then do something fun in the afternoon. This photo is from a recent trip - where some of us did yoga and painting that day.

CHARLES LOWELL, FOUNDER, CTO

Something we should know about you?

I guess you could call me a classic introvert. I do a decent job coping with it, but I nevertheless struggle with a nature that is both mistrustful of groups and is often awkward in their presence. I love people though, and I love nothing more than to make things of quality with them. I'm deliberate and slow-moving (plodding even) in decisions. However, I'm excitable and easily animated when gripped by an idea. Also, there's not much I enjoy more than singing.

WHY THAT IMAGE?

At 8th Light we place a high value on continual learning, both in our apprenticeship program and beyond. On Fridays, each of our locations comes together from our various client sites to hang out as a group in 8th Light's office. We always look forward to 8th Light University (pictured here), where we host talks and workshops to share what we've learned, and to learn from others.

Mike Jansen, VP of Operations

Something we should know about you?

I've seen 8th Light grow from 15 people in 65 years, and in the last 3 years I've carved out an operational role inside of an organization with a small-company mindset to allow us to support that rate of growth. I've figured out that writing software is difficult, but it's a walk in the park compared to understanding people.

Jim Remsik, President

Something we should know about you?

Born a child near the younger-side of seven children with a background includes a printing apprenticeship, wedding photography, short order cooking, and racing stock cars ... in reverse. The latter led to stories on national news programs in the US and Hungary as well as stories on Ripley's TV and other themed shows and publications. Struggles with the reality of being a gregarious introvert.

Jen Remsik, Director of People Operations

Something we should know about you?

I owned my own business for 5 years prior to joining Adorable. At work Jim and I try to be colleagues first and spouses second. I am a former Hashrocket employee.
